The Brooks Glycerin Flex is a shoe that promotes flexibility in your foot, parting from the market at large by drawing from the minimalist school of thought, at least in one way. Could this be the first swing of the pendulum away from max stack everything?
It was refreshing to run in such a flexible shoe, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t kick my ass today. It was a rough run, especially in the afternoon of my double. But the fact that the flex worked my calves as hard as it did makes me wonder if I’ve gone soft from all of these super shoes.
This is still a far cry from minimalism, and I’d much prefer if this shoe went on a diet, but these first two runs were thought provoking and informative.
