6. SOUNDBITE (Italian) Mariuccia Mandelli:
"I am surrounded by great collaborators and they are really an excellent support, therefore if I will ever get tired of this, I know someone will continue. They have helped me a lot, it is a school that was born with me and continues and improves its language. I am happy about what I have managed to do."

STORYLINE
AVANT-GARDE INSPIRED KRIZIA
Inspired by Zaha Hadid's avant-garde architectural designs, Mariuccia Mandelli folded, pleated and tucked stiff fabrics in glistening textures into graphic cocoon shapes and dramatic ruffles in her collection on Thursday (23 SEPT 2010) in Milan.
Trousers had false inverted pleats, and jackets and mini-dresses showed origami like pleated bodices that gave a Japanese feel.
There were petal folds in shorts and trousers; and rounded skirts and little sleeves.
Evening wear was super chic in black and white.
An organza tuxedo was teamed with jodhpur trousers, and a knitted jumpsuit had a crocodile print.
Colors were inspired by aspects of nature such as sand, mud, stone, egg shells and butter.
They came in the hues of white gold, silver, optical white, lilac, cornflower, magenta, bright green, and olive green, lime, rosewood and antique pink.
Materials used were vinyl, sparkling rafia, satin, lame, and silk and taffeta.
Leather was laser-embroidered and studded while fabrics were crisp or soft, and a little bit "lived in."
Accessories came in the form of colored sandals with high heels and contrasting platforms.
Glitter belts had mirror buckles and maxi mirrored buckles, some were double-layered, and they were additions on her brightly colored bags.
Black rubber pochettes had colored details, and multi-strand necklaces were embellished with rigid metal semi-circles hanging from chains and rat tail cords.
