You can't deny that since the debut of the original 8IGHT™ buggy, Team Losi Racing has been at or near the front of the field in the class. Whether using nitro or electric power, the 8IGHT-platform has been at the pinnacle of performance. The most recent update to the platform, the Team Losi Racing™ 8IGHT 3.0, has already become a proven winner thanks to Dakotah Phend taking the TQ honors at the 2013 ROAR Fuel Off Road Nationals with his teammate Adam Drake taking the overall win and yet another ROAR Championship. Not to be outdone, the engineers went to work to take what they learned on the nitro car and create what they feel is the best electric-powered 1/8-buggy. The result is the 8IGHT-E™ 3.0 buggy you see before you now.

Much like the 8IGHT 3.0, the 8IGHT-E 3.0 is a leaner, meaner, faster and more durable platform than the previous car. Many innovations that debuted on the nitro car have been carried over to the electric one, including larger diameter shocks, titanium carbo-nitride coated suspension pins and shock shafts, a new aero package and much more. The 8IGHT-E 3.0 builds upon this with a narrower chassis, updated motor mount, new front and rear shock towers and a number of addition enhancements. But make no mistake; while it shares many parts with its nitro cousin, this is a purpose-built electric-powered buggy from the ground up. In the end, much like its nitro counterpart, Dakotah Phend went out and TQed and won the ROAR Electric 1/8-scale Nationals on the debut weekend of the 8IGHT-E 3.0 buggy.

Ryan Dunford is well known for his work on the slightly smaller TEN-platform, which has been used to win multiple National Championships in its own right. Ryan has taken what he learned on the TEN-SCTE and TEN-SCTE 2.0 and applied it to the 8IGHT-E 3.0. Clearly what he has done has proven to be effective as the early success indicates. We give you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the current ROAR National Championship-winning chassis. Ryan helps explain many intricate details that make such a proven platform even faster for the future.
