20" Blackstone Camp Griddle Review: 1 Year of Cooking & Camping | Grilled Cheese on the Blackstone

Описание: In this video we go over our total year review of using the new 20” Blackstone Camp griddle. This grill was the talk of the camping scene in 2024 and we are going to share the good, the bad and the ugly.

First off we do another cooking meal where we show you how to amp up a grilled cheese sandwich.

For us we start with the bread: You can use anything you want but we love Brioche and Sourdough. Going on the bread to give it that coating we use a compound Kerigold Butter and the real secret is using shredded Parmesan Cheese , which will give it that extra crisp on the outside.

For the Cheese’s we start off with another Unique approach and that is using cream cheese first which gives a gooey center as well as balancing out the other cheese’s. We also use Colby Jack and Mild cheddar for our finishing cheese’s.

Once on the Blackstone, we use that hood and a little bit of water to give us a steam to help melt the cheese before the bread had a chance to burn, this is a key point.

As you can see from the results , this one is a winner.


We also go over our year review of using the 20” Blackstone Camp Griddle and I can tell you it has been amazing for us. The surface has stayed pristine the whole camping season, and that is multiple weekends over the entire camping season at about 30-40 nights of cooking.

We do have some cons, the first one being with the handle , which did break on this trip and ended up cutting up my hand when I tried to pull it across a table. The 3 piece handle SHOULD NEVER BE USED TO CARRY LIKE A BRIEFCASE !!! If it couldn’t making to take to force of pulling across the table, in certainly won’t help when gravity is in play.

We also had an issue with the lighting ,but now just use a stick lighter behind the grill opening with no issues. As well as the first day having some issues with the lid hinge not closing correctly.


Overall I feel like the portability , weight and the non stick surface make this a winner, even with all the other issues, it still produces some great meals.
