The narcissist and ego that is fragile makes them always at risk of being exposed for the fraud they are and being exposed to feelings of shame. Sources of supply for narcissists can come from anything, or anyone, which makes them feel better about themselves and boosts their low self-esteem and fragile ego. Why do narcissists need supply? Because the narcissist supply serves as a buffer to the world which they always think is out to get them. They are on the defensive to protect their unstable sense of self. What happens if narcissist loses supply? This is when they go into attack mode and become their cruelest. They will use their narcissistic punishment tactics of silent treatment or narcissistic rage so that you feel worse about yourself, which helps them feel better about themselves. Why did the narcissist find their new supply so quickly? Because they can’t have a gap between supplies. There must always be a constant source of supplies the narcissist can rely on boosting their self esteem. What happens when a narcissist loses supply is this can lead to the narcissistic collapse. The narcissist are abusive on a good day, and even more abusive when things don’t go as planned. Narc showing off new supply is just more of their control and manipulation and another way in which they can boost their supply. They think you will be jealous or upset so they show off the supply. When narcissist loses supply, you can expect to be a part of the narcissistic punishment tactics and this is the best time to stay away from them. Don’t let them further boost their waning supply by abusing you.
