There’s something truly special about building the sukkah each year — not just the walls and the schach, but the memories that come with it. Watching the kids carry planks of wood, hang decorations, and sweep the floor with pride — as if preparing their own little palace — reminds us that this temporary dwelling becomes an elevated home.
We treat it with care because it represents a space where the Divine Presence rests, a reminder that holiness can dwell even in the simplest of places. For seven days, we step out of our regular homes and into the sukkah — and in return, our tradition tells us that Hashem is giving us a “hug” the entire time.
It’s in this embrace that we feel His love, warmth, and kindness surrounding us — and it’s in this space that we teach our children what it means to find joy in faith, unity, and gratitude.
May we all feel that Divine embrace this Sukkot — the love, the connection, and the sweet reminder that every moment shared in the sukkah is truly sacred.
