Originally choreographed for the chic Tanaquil LeClerq, Ms. Govrin made this role her own. Bigger than life, and with an energy which you can see here, "Big Glo" as she was affectionately called, was the Amazon Queen of the NYC Ballet. Balanchine LOVED diversity. And talk about energy.
