The incident prompted the evacuation of residents in the middle of the night, causing panic in the affected areas. Responding swiftly, the police arrived at the scene after receiving initial reports. Investigations revealed that the ammonia gas leak originated from the Coromandel factory, where a rupture in the undersea pipeline occurred, allowing the gas to mix with seawater and subsequently with the air.
