A protocol video on how to process microplastic samples. Includes digestion methods, density separation methods, filtering methods, and how to identify plastic particles under a dissecting microscope. Can be adapted to fit into high school or college-level classes or for citizen science!
Water and sediment samples can be taken from stream, lake, and ocean ecosystems. You can also test tap water, bottled water, or personal care products. The protocol is highly adaptable!
