To see the fleeting world, where life begins and ends.
I saw the sinew, the blood, the lung's soft breath,
I sought no glory, Michikatsu... only life, not death.
My simple dream: a home, a wife, a child's small hand,
A future scattered, like ash upon the land.
This burning light you coveted, it was a tool, a plea,
A profound burden, not a victory.

You speak of peace! Your very being was a blade
That carved my soul, a rivalry pre-made!
I chose eternity, this flesh, this lunar might,
To one day stand and conquer your unending light!

You chose a cage, brother, a cold and hollow throne.
We walk divergent paths, yet were never alone.
All masters find the peak, all rivers reach the sea,
But you abandoned life to chase a phantasm of me.

That fragile peak? We die at twenty-five!
The Mark, a promise we would not survive!
I fled that fate, I cast my name away,
Refused the sunset of my human day.
Six eyes to see the world you saw so clear,
A thousand cycles, mastering my fear.
I am transcendent, a creature of the night!

This 'perfection' I attained is monstrous, foul, and rotten...

Eight decades passed. I saw your altered form,
The man I knew, consumed within the storm.

My one regret: the battle I had lost.
Not against you... but the progenitor of sin.

But simple sorrow, watching you deny
