In this video, I share a little about my journey from beginner to professional artist and what that progression actually looked like.
It can be easy to feel disheartened or frustrated and wonder how to overcome self doubt or lack of confidence as an artist. I get it, i have been there.
The key is to understand the reality of the creative process and what that actually looks like. Once you understand that progress takes time and patience, and you are going to encounter challenges, it can help you persist because you understand that you are not alone.
I am currently running a short series of online coloured pencil classes for beginners where I cover topics like this as well as other fundamental skills of creating realism, including how to layer and blend coloured pencils, simple colour theory and tips for sketching outlines.
