*NOTE: Traverse City is my home base, so most of the videos you will see on this channel are of me swimming in Lake Michigan. In my professional (mermaid) opinion, all Great Lakes are great... but Lake Michigan is superior.
**NOTE 2: We caught Lake Huron on a bad day. It was very stormy for a few days prior to swimming, so the lake was all sorts of mixed up. Please don't judge Lake Huron's beauty from this video. I doubt it is typically this murky!

STORY TIME!
So... I didn't want to go to Alpena (I was really tired that week). But, my dad was opening up an office for his business down in Alpena and wanted to know if I'd come with him to swim and to help him set up his office. So, we went to Alpena.

I didn't really expect to like the area very much, since I heard it wasn't as pretty as (northern) Western Michigan. And, I was feeling rather "meh" due to recent depression episodes. AND! I was also in the middle of trying to beat Resident Evil Village (back at home), which was my distraction from depression- so the idea of going to Alpena and leaving my beautiful, dark cave was not appealing.

BUT THEN!!! Dad and I walked around Alpena and explored the lakeshore a bit. We walked around their MASSIVE marina and caught sight of a factory. Oooh boy. That factory did smell... but it was SO cool! We drove over towards the factory to get a better look and you could hear the machines hard at work. It was impressive! I know factories aren't the most eco-friendly thing in the world, but they certainly are an impressive display of humanity's brain power. To think that weak, clumsy mammals like us figured out how to build something so complex blows my mind.

So anyways. It reminded me of Heisenberg's factory from RE8 (minus the soldats) and my little gamer brain was very happy about that.

We also saw a Nuka Cola truck driving around in Alpena, which was equally as exciting! :3
