We’re picking up in the PTM Statement of Faith series—moving from what the Bible is and how to study it (hermeneutics) into the first doctrinal section: Holy Scripture. This teaching explains why PTM affirms the Bible as inspired, trustworthy, complete (66 books), unified, and the final authority for faith and conduct—especially in a time when many are being pulled into novel doctrines, extra-biblical authority claims, and online-driven confusion.

Teaching Summary:
Review: What the Bible is (BibleProject “paradigm”)—human + divine, unified, messianic, communal, ancient, meditation, and wisdom literature.

Review: Hermeneutics and exegesis vs. eisegesis—asking questions, defining terms, checking context, circling back, and applying wisely.

PTM 1A: Scripture is God-inspired and trustworthy—preserved and understandable with diligent study and the help of the Holy Spirit (2 Tim. 3:15–17).

Canon: Why PTM holds the 66-book canon as complete—sufficient for spiritual formation, sound doctrine, and the gospel; other writings may offer context but should not be treated as “God-breathed.”

Foundation warning: Build on the rock, not sand—good doctrine and obedience matter (Matt. 7:24–28; 2 Tim. 4:1–5).

Unity: Scripture is one coherent message pointing to Messiah Yeshua, preached from Torah and Prophets (Acts 28:23–24).

Agreement: The Old and New Testaments agree; rejecting apostolic witness often begins a slide toward rejecting the New Testament entirely.

Authority + correction: The Bible must remain the final authority; wolves and deviant doctrines must be resisted for the protection of the flock (Acts 20:25–31; Matt. 15:5–9).
