TRI, LADAKH TB HAREGA, DESH JEETEGA CAMPAIN

Описание: The Tribal Research Institute, Ladakh, Kargil Campus, University of Ladakh in collaboration with the District Tuberculosis Centre (DTC), Leh successfully concluded a week-long Tuberculosis Awareness Campaign titled “TB Harega, Desh Jeetega” from 28 December 2025 to 03 January 2026 in the remote areas of Changthang, Lalok.
The campaign was organized with the primary objectives of reducing stigma associated with tuberculosis, increasing awareness about TB symptoms, encouraging early diagnosis, promoting preventive and healthy practices, strengthening inter-departmental collaboration, reaching high-risk and building trust in the public health system, encouraging follow-up care and supporting the goals of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP).
A distinctive feature of the campaign was the use of local artists and culturally rooted performances to convey the message of TB prevention, treatment adherence, nutrition and the dispelling of common myths surrounding tuberculosis. These performances enabled effective community engagement by presenting health information in a simple, relatable and culturally appropriate manner, motivating people to seek timely medical support.
The program witnessed active participation from approximately 4,000 people, covering villages including Tangtse-Tharuk, Shachukul, Chilam-Phalongley, Yerath, Kherapullu, Sato, Barma, Chushul, Spangmik, Merak, Maan, Phobrang, Durbuk and Shayok.
