"Parisienne Walkways" is a signature guitar balld by Northern Irish guitarist "Gary Moore", originally released on his 1978 solo album "Back on the Streets". The song is renowned for its emotive melody & Moore's ability to hold a single, sustained note for an extended period during live performances. The song features vocals & lyrics by "Phil Lynott". It was released as a single on April 6, 1979, & reached #8 on the U.K. Singles Chart.
While the lyrics evoke a romantic nostalgia for Paris, the opening line "I remember Paris in "49" is a personal reference to "Phil Lynott's" father, "Cecil Parris", & his birth year, 1949.
