Slay the Spire 2 just launched in Early Access, so of course I had to jump in and see what it’s all about. In this first run I’m playing as the Ironclad, exploring the new systems, enemies, and overall feel of the sequel to one of the most influential roguelike deckbuilders ever made.

If you’ve played the original Slay the Spire, the core idea will feel familiar: build a deck, climb the spire, fight enemies, and try to survive long enough to reach the top. But this is a brand new game built from the ground up with new visuals, mechanics, and content. Since this is my first run, a lot of this video is me learning how the new version works and seeing what’s changed.
