► As the incident unfolded in February, 66-year-old Penelope Jackson calmly told a 999 operator she hoped husband Peter would be bleeding to death.

She told officers at the scene she'd done it because "she'd had enough" and admitted manslaughter, claiming he was controlling and physically abusive.
