Описание: The Battle of Rzhev was one of the bloodiest and least-known series of engagements of World War II, fought on the Eastern Front between 1942 and 1943 near the city of Rzhev. The Red Army aimed to break through German defenses and eliminate the German positions threatening Moscow. The fighting was extremely brutal, with enormous casualties on both sides, while the front lines changed very little. Although it did not result in a decisive breakthrough, the Battle of Rzhev significantly exhausted German forces and contributed to later Soviet successes.
