The Queen’s CardioPulmonary Unit (QCPU) loves to educate! In honour of Science Rendezvous Kingston, QCPU jumped on the fun opportunity to foster the education of young minds in science! Which is why we created the QCPU Education Laboratory (Edu-Lab) series where our team of scientists explain science projects and concepts that kids can watch from home or the classroom.
Dr Elahe Alizadeh, a physicist at QCPU, welcomes you to her lab where she introduces you to her CT scanner which uses X-Rays! She shows you how X-rays can be used to see the toy inside a Kinder Surprise and explains what X-Rays are.
Sometimes the items we can scan in the CT scanner are mysterious., at the end of the video, you can play a guessing game to see if you can tell what random items are that she has scanned.
