(11 Dec 1998) RR9850/C - UK: WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHERS
(Duration: 5 min 50 sec./English sot: 1 min 52 sec/German sot: 30 sec.)
MUSIC: The Deep Stillness, An African Journey Part 3, by David Bradnum, KPM 312 CD; Clouds of Kilimanjaro, An African
Journey, by David Bradnum, KPM 164 CD.
A brown bear waits patiently on the edge of a waterfall, scanning the water's broken surface for a fresh salmon meal. A
spectacular sunrise illuminates the rocky canyon of Mesa Arch, Utah with brilliant orange and yellow light. Three delicate waterlilies float on tiny ripples of pond water. It doesn't matter if you don't like wildlife, and it doesn't even matter if you don't like still photography. Chances are that one look and you will be moved. These are some of the images of the 1998 Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, capturing the often complex life of the natural world with the single click of the camera.
