Testing my DJI Neo 2 Drone - Cycling follow me mode Grafham Water - 31st December 2025

Описание: A departure from my usual windsurfing videos, today was my first outing with my new DJI Neo 2 Drone - initial test flights were conducted in my home garden to gain confidence in operations of the drone's functions and 'return to home' capability. Having done the 'proper' thing and registered with the CAA to gain my Operator and Flyer IDs I was now well placed to venture in to the great outdoors.

My focus today was keeping well away from any people / animals and wildlife whilst testing the follow me mode for cycling. Secondary purpose was to try out the other 'out of the box' modes for panoramic scenic capture, to gain familiarity with these and be well placed when using the drone for future travel.

Today's conditions were bright and cold with a noticeable breeze across the exposed dam and northern eastern reaches of the lake. So a good test of how well the drone handled the wind conditions as well as battery life. By way of contrast the western and southern perimeter of the lake was well sheltered from the wind, enabling both drone and operator a more pleasant experience.

Overall a very beneifical afternoon out and good to get a bit of exercise in between the drone stops.
