Laverick Marshall, of the 6400 block of South King Drive, was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office

About 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of a large crowd fighting near 64th Street and South King Drive, said Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
When the crowd was cleared, Marshall was found shot in the back nearby, she said. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

A Chicago rapper was shot in the head when gunfire broke out during a funeral for his friend and fellow rapper killed earlier in October. 
Marvel 'FBG Wooski' Williams, 21, and five others were injured in the Monday afternoon shootout on Chicago's South Side. 
Witnesses described hearing around 40 shots as two groups exchanged gunfire on a busy street next to the Bethlehem Star Missionary Baptist Church where a funeral for rapper Vantrease 'Dooski Tha Man' Criss was being held.  One woman on the scene immediately after the shooting described seeing several people on the ground bleeding. 
'Mothers crying for their sons. It was just terrible,' Cynthia Rainey told NBC5 said. 'It's just heartbreaking.'
