On April 28, 2006, on a prime time broadcast, Rick Springfield opened the Daytime Emmy Awards in what was one of the greatest musical performances on an awards show in TV history. This has been posted to Youtube before, but the audio wasn't in sync and was a little low in the mix. I equalized and synced it so it can be enjoyed. The highlight is the delight of the star studded audience when Rick comes in after the announcements singing "Don't Talk To Strangers" and then goes wild during the opening chords of, what else, "Jessie's Girl".
Rick does a medley of "Love Somebody", "I've Done Everything For You", "Don't Talk to Strangers", and "Jessie's Girl".
