Last week, we tackled a sagging kitchen ceiling by sistering and through-bolting an overloaded joist—flattening things out and adding proper support for those perpendicular runs. ✅

This week, we're continuing the ceiling renovation by reinforcing the rest of that saggy old ceiling system. We used a floor jack to lift the sag and sistered new 2x6s right to the heart of the span with tons of screws. The result? A noticeably flatter ceiling below and a MUCH stronger platform above for attic storage. 💪

This DIY ceiling repair is part of our ongoing attic renovation series—turning a spooky, neglected upper level into a clean, well-lit, and functional storage space.
