We had booked this place through Airbnb, and the moment we reached, we felt that reassurance after all, the owner is a Superhost. But the real magic began only after stepping inside.
The property was originally built in 1973, surrounded by strawberry-farming villages.
Her father had once visited Panchgani and fell in love with the place so deeply that he refused to return to Mumbai. He stayed back and eventually built the iconic Veena Lake Boat Club - a legacy that still lives on.
After checking in, she gave us a complete tour of the property, and every corner came with its own story.
She was born and brought up in Mahabaleshwar. During her college days in Mumbai, she felt drained by the fast-paced city life and decided to return, not just to live, but to create something meaningful for the community.
What’s unbelievable is that this gorgeous homestay was once a simple poultry shed. Over the years, she transformed it into a space where people could connect, breathe, slow down, and feel at home.
When her daughter was born, she made a unique choice which was, no traditional schooling. Instead, she started homeschooling at home, and eventually, 18 students began learning under her roof.
That spirit of community still reflects in the way the stay is designed.
Today, she practices eco-farming, growing everything organically. The house itself follows the same sustainable lifestyle
the flooring is the traditional cow-dung finished floor, the furniture is thrifted, and the entire architecture looks beautifully handcrafted, almost like something straight out of a foreign countryside series.
There are many rooms here, each with its own vibe including a cozy, quirky Harry Potter–style room that feels like entering another world.

Everything about this place felt warm, intentional, and crafted with love.
