One of the five founding members of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois), a confederacy of Native Americans in New York, is the Cayuga. The Cayuga homeland is located near Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes region, sandwiched between the Seneca to the west and the Onondaga to the east, who are their league neighbors. The Cayuga people are now part of the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma, the federally recognized Cayuga Nation of New York, and the Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation in Ontario.
