Nuapada By-Election: Campaigning Ends Today, Strict Silence Period Enforced

Описание: Campaigning for the Nuapada by-election concludes today at 4 PM, marking the end of all canvassing activities. With this, the crucial 48-hour 'Silence Period' will come into effect, leading up to the voting day. The Chief Electoral Officer has issued important directives that mandate strict compliance from the administration.

This silence period is designed to allow voters to make impartial decisions regarding their franchise, free from any political influence or campaigning. All forms of electioneering must cease before this period. Furthermore, all political individuals and workers brought in from outside the constituency are prohibited from staying within the election boundaries once the campaign period ends.
Police will conduct thorough checks of Kalyana Mandaps, community halls, and other accommodations to identify any outsiders. Guest lists of lodges and guest houses will also be scrutinized. No public meetings or processions are permitted during the 48 hours preceding the end of voting. Identity card checks will be conducted to ensure only local voters remain within the constituency.
