In this video, I am repairing a water-damaged OnePlus 9 Pro smartphone that was rejected by many shopkeepers and repair technicians. The phone was completely dead — there was no current reading on the power supply and no voltage on the charger.
After a complete diagnosis, I found that this device has a double-layer board (sandwich board) design. During further inspection, I discovered that the charging IC was short. When I removed the charging IC, I found heavy water damage underneath, and the circuit was badly affected from the bottom side.
I properly cleaned the damaged area, removed all corrosion, and reballed the charging IC. After carefully placing and punching the IC again, Alhamdulillah, the phone started responding.
Initially, the charging input voltage was present, but the output voltage was missing, and the VPH line, which is essential to power on the device, was also short and not showing proper value. After reworking and reinstalling the charging IC correctly, the issue was
