Seal Rescued From Bucket Ring

Описание: Call out for OCN - an entangled seal has been spotted near the Walvis Bay fish factories. Antoine and Naude are close by and they spot the animal immediately. Rescues at the commercial harbour are different than Pelican Point or Cape Cross seal rescues. Harbour seals are a lot more used to people, but many fishermen do not like seals and seals rightfully do not consider human beings their friends.
Once in the rescue net, Naude uses the Leatherman serrated blade to cut the bucket ring open. There is zero stretch on the plastic, the seal would have starved or suffocated soon. She is an excellent patient, she stays very relaxed and waddles back to her friends. Plastic rings from buckets are not very common for entanglements, but we have seen it a few times before. 🦭
