Soldiers from the Philippine Army’s 5th and 7th Infantry Divisions teamed up with U.S. Army soldiers from the 25th Infantry Division for rope system training during the Jungle Operations Training Course (JOTC) at Fort Magsaysay, Philippines, on April 21, 2025.
Led by the Lightning Academy Mobile Training Team, this training was part of Exercise Balikatan 2025. Troops practiced essential jungle skills including knot tying, one-rope bridge construction, and the Z-pulley system—used for emergency rescue, load securing, and crossing rivers or rugged terrain.
This joint training not only enhanced technical skills but also strengthened interoperability and camaraderie between the Philippine and U.S. forces
