First 24 hours in Japan! Heading straight from Haneda airport to Kyoto on the Shinkansen (bullet train).
Itinerary/Highlights:
Obtained a "Welcome Suica" card at the airport (used for the subway/bus system and even convenience stores -- a must have!! A regular Suica card may be a better fit for you depending on the duration of your trip)
Subway to Shinagawa Station for the Shinkansen
Shinkansen to Kyoto. Bought a bento box before boarding
Dropped off our luggage at our hotel. M's Hotel Kyoto Station Taruya. A solid stay. Good location, though we spent a decent amount of time in and around Gion.
Shopping around Nakagyo Ward. Traveler's Factory Kyoto for stamp books. COLLECT 'EM ALL
