The driver, 24-year-old Luis Fernando Cevallos, admitted to having only a provisional license and no permanent registration for the new car.

Officer Nunez issued three citations, warning the driver about the dangers of his behavior.Minutes later, Officer Nunez responded to a severe crash involving a tractor-trailer and realized it was the same vehicle he had just stopped. The car had been traveling over 124 mph before colliding with the truck, resulting in an unsurvivable crash for both Cevallos and his 27-year-old passenger, Alexis Rodriguez. The tragic outcome deeply affected Officer Nunez, who expressed frustration that despite his warnings, the driver had not slowed down.
