The Kinaiyahan Festival celebrates Dauin’s bountiful nature and its conservation of natural resources and attractions with street-dancing participated in by the municipality’s barangays. It is the highlight of the feats of their patron Saint, St. Nicholas of Tolentino, every 10th of September each year. Kinaiyahan Festival is a thanksgiving celebration for having an abundant harvest from both agricultural and marine industry. Dauin is a coastal town in Negros Oriental, Philippines with perfect beaches of fine sand that stretch on for miles The Mindanao Sea forms its eastern border and this is where the most precious treasures of Dauin lie — underwater. With excellent scuba dive sites Dauin offers both coral reef and muck dive opportunities. Apo Island and other marine sanctuaries such as Masaplod, Luca, Dauin and Mainit, within which fishing and boats are prohibited to preserve the habitats of the huge quantity and variety of life forms found therein. Private resorts set amid Dauin’s seaside terrain offer visitors a wide variety of options & services for their perfect island vacation.

Buglasan brings together the different Festivals in Negros Oriental in one colorful and mesmerizing event. This is a celebration that unites the people all over the stretched region of the Negros Island. Aside from watching the grandest events of Buglasan Festival, other great festivals can also be seen though out the year. From the north of Canlaon to the south of Basay, festivals are the essential celebrations that we Filipinos carry out through different generations.

The Buglasan Festival of Festivals, which includes a grand showdown and a street dancing competition, is the province’s premier showcase of the socio-cultural heritage and uniqueness of each town and city in Negros Oriental and is held every October
