Here is another piece by the British composer (Alfred) Frederic Mullen (1868-1936). Jean Morel was one of the pseudonyms he used: others were Gustave Lind and Pierre Lescaut. The suites of piano pieces by this 'group' of composers were very popular in the early years of the last century. Mullen liked to preface his pieces by literary quotations, sometimes unattributed. This piece is prefaced by a quotation from Shelley's 'The Sensitive Plant', an anthropomorphic portrayal of a member of the mimosa family:

"And each flower and herb on earth’s dark breast
Rose from the dreams of its wintry rest."
