When I was just 13, my dad cheated on my mom while she was dying of cancer and left me to raise my younger siblings alone. I became their caretaker while he chased other women. Now, years later, he’s remarried, has a new baby, and expects me to help raise it like nothing happened.
I’ve never forgiven him for abandoning us when we needed him most. I don’t see his new baby as my responsibility, and I’ve made it clear I’m not going to be his wife’s free babysitter. But now I’m being called “disgusting” and heartless for refusing to help.
