The original clip is from the legendary U.S. TV series Baywatch (1989–2001), one of my favorite shows when I was young.
Despite consistently negative critical reviews and its reputation as a pop culture phenomenon—often parodied and alluded to—the show achieved massive success both in the U.S. and internationally.
Interestingly, 65 percent of its audience was female, with the largest demographic being women aged 18 to 34.
In 2001, Schwartz, one of the creators, explained that after conducting focus groups for about five years, they discovered the show resonated with this audience because “most of its lead characters were strong, independent women who were heroic, saving lives, and equal to men.”

In it, Neely shares her childhood memories with Cody. The video is masterfully directed and beautifully acted—and of course, the music is simply heavenly.
Hopefully, the young surfer girl who played the protagonist was just as happy creating the video as her character is in the story.
