Hello, it's K△FKA! Long time no see!
I wanted to try out VOISONA, specifically VOISONA TALK. I've been listening to a lot of Haniwa's works recently and wanted to make a song with a 'spoken word poetry' kind of feeling... The character that comes free with the software, Tanaka San, can only speak in Japanese, so I did my best to write the lyrics in Japanese, but I'm not fluent at all and had to rely a lot on machine translation to fix my work, so there might still be a few mistakes! If you spot any, please do your best to ignore them...
Then, I couldn't help myself and had to add a more traditional singing section to the song, so I used IA. Her voice is really great, isn't it?! I didn't get to use her VOCALOID voicebank, so it was great to finally use her.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this song with the theme of 'the ending of a dream'. It's only short, but I'm working on the music video for this year's Halloween song, so I hope to get that out soon.

夢は途中から始まった。
It started in the middle of the dream.

知らなきゃいけない気がする女の子に、階段を案内されてた。
A girl I felt like I should've known was guiding me up the staircase.

怖いはずだった。でも、彼女がいれば全然怖くなかった。
I should've been scared. But, with her there, I wasn't scared at all.

なんで、全然怖くなかったんだ？
Why wasn't I scared?

階段のいちばん上に着いた。
We reached the top of the stairs.

ドアを開けた―― 屋上だった。
We opened the door -- onto the rooftop.

「私たちだけなんて、意外だね」って、彼女がふわっと笑った。
"It's just the two of us here, that's surprising." The girl laughed softly.

「なんで40階？」って聞いた。
"Why the 40th floor?" I asked.

彼女がこっちを見た――
She looked over at me --

「だって、ここなら夢の終わりがちゃんと見えるから」って言った。
"Because, from here you can properly see the dream ending." She said.



今、自分と繋がってるか？
Are you connected to yourself right now?
何もないフリするか？
Are you pretending nothing's happened?
終わり、楽しみか？
Are you looking forward to the ending?
その目、あなたのか？
Are those eyes your eyes?
冷蔵庫のプリン、食べたか？
The pudding in the fridge, did you eat it?
もう一回、やってみるか？
Shall we try again, one more time?
やり直すの、簡単か？
Is re-doing it easy?
寂しくなるか？
Will you be lonely?
救われるか？
Will you be saved?
ふざけてるか？
Are you messing with me?
全然楽しくないか？
Is it actually not fun at all?
駅、何時がいいか？
What time should we meet at the station?
こんなふうに時間潰して、楽しいか？
Is killing time like this fun?

正直、怖いと思ってるか？

これ、前にもやったか？

「夢の終わりって、怖いの？」って聞いた。
"Is the dream ending scary?" I asked.

「怖いっていうより、残念って感じかな。」
"Rather than scary, it's more like it's a bit of a shame."

「なんで？」
"How come?"

「うーん、この夢にもう戻れないかもしれないから。これは私の夢じゃないから、次にどこ行くか選べないんだ。」
"Hmm, because I might not be able to return to this dream. It's not mine, so I don't choose where I end up next."

「置いてくのが惜しいっていうか、そういう感じ。」
"Leaving it behind feels like a waste; something like that."

「後悔してることある？」って聞いた。
"Do you have anything you regret?" I asked.

「うーん…そうだな…。冷蔵庫にプリンあったんだよね。食べたかったなあ。」って彼女が白状した。
"Well.. I suppose so.. there was some pudding in the fridge, right? I wanted to eat some." She confessed.

二人で笑った。長い付き合いの友達同士の笑いだった。
We both laughed. It was the kind of laugh shared between long-time friends.

「もうすぐだと思う。」って彼女が言った。
"I think it'll happen soon." She said.

急に、悲しさが押し寄せてきた。
Suddenly, sadness washed over me.

「約束する。またこの場所を夢で見られるように頑張る。そして、ちゃんと君もそこにいるようにする。」
"I promise. I'll do my best to dream of this place again, and I'll make sure you're there, too."

「プリンがいっぱい入った冷蔵庫の夢見るよ。一緒に食べよう。」って付け加えた。
"I'll dream of a fridge full of pudding. Let's eat some together," I added.

「優しいね。」って彼女は少し寂しそうに言った。
"How kind," the girl sounded sad.

「でも、できないと思うな。」
"But, I don't think that's possible."

彼女がこっちを向いた ―― ああ、顔が私にそっくりだったよね？
She turned to face me - ah, didn't she look just like me?

「だって、これもあなたの夢じゃないから。」
"Because, this isn't your dream either."

そう言った時、空が裂けた。
As she said that, the sky split open.


終わりなく夢見る　もうひとつの世界
Endlessly dreaming of another world

別れた重ならない空
Split skies, never to overlap

見知らぬ顔の海　なぜか懐かしい
A sea of unfamiliar faces; somehow nostalgic
