Want a simple and quick head covering for your medieval or Renaissance (Elizabethan) re-enactment event experience? Try wearing a caul!
This is a short video with historic examples of women wearing cauls, plus instructions on how to wear a caul. A caul is a small circular head covering that fits on the back of the head, covering the braided hair (or hair bun). It covers the back of the head similar to a St. Birgitta cap or coif.
