Central Station of Verville Part 1! Cities: Skylines // Verville EP 11.0

Finally we are there! The beginning of the capital city of Verville! In this episode we lay the foundations for the first multi-part project. The main station of Verville will serve as large transport hub for all the train, tram and maybe even bus lines. The area around the station represents the centerpiece of the city, hence we spend quite some time, developing the area. During the episode you'll probably notice me browsing on google earth. We are taking a lot of inspiration for the railway station, as well as Verville in general, from Zürich, largest city of Switzerland. Especially the layout of the track field and directions the lines are headed came from the real life counterpart. I hope you enjoy the first part (out of 3 or even 4 parts) of this project!


About the series:

The topic of this series is about creating a quite extensive city-/landscape representing an area somewhere in Central Europe. We started with some smaller villages, located in the valleys of the map and from there we worked round to the capital city "Verville".

The environment we try to represent is strongly influenced by Switzerland, since that’s what I’m most familiar with. Therefore, we’ll need to provide a conclusive mass transit system, with a massive central station and loads of different options and connections. We also need to pay attention to the strict policies about preserving the historical townscape.

I hope you guys enjoy these multiple part episodes as well. For me it's quite difficult to squeeze such a large scale project in just 20 minutes of time. So obviously we are not able to detail the area in this first part. Was pretty strange for me, recording cinematics without any details...

I also do my best to keep all the footage in a chronologial order, but it happens, that I miss a minor detail somewhere.
