► The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall have made their first joint public appearance since the death of the Duke of Edinburgh. The royals visited Marlborough House, the home of the Commonwealth, to view flowers and tributes left for the Duke.

Flowers, cards and artwork have been placed at Buckingham Palace by the public, wishing to send their tributes to the late Duke of Edinburgh. Every evening, the tributes are transferred from Buckingham Palace to Marlborough House. Cards refer to Prince Philip as "A true gentleman" and thank him for his "devoted service to our country".

The public has been asked to donate to charities that the Duke supported rather than leave flowers, to prevent any breaches of COVID guidelines. However, many people still wanted to pay their respects in person.

Meanwhile, the Earl of Wessex has been thanking participants of the Duke of Edinburgh award. He told the public "his spirit and ethos lives on through his award".

Over 6.7 million people in the UK alone have taken part in the programme, which encourages outdoor adventure and teamwork.
