This axle was seized in the transmission after years of use and corrosion. The method used in this video was a last resort as the axle shaft separated from joint. We put the separated shaft back into the CV joint and used a few vice grips to act as a stop for the shaft as we pulled on it. I placed some bungee-cords around the vice grips to help in case they didn't hold through the slide hammer impact. One more vice grip was used at the outer end of the axle in order to give the slide pull hammer a good place to anchor to.
