Catching Cheryl Alterman on this side of the lense isn’t an easy thing to do!. Photographer, Artist and Creator of THE MUSIC SOUP magazine. She’s a true music fan and is rarely seen without a camera in her hand. “The Passion I get from behind the lense and in the Pit-There’s really nothing like that! That's the dogs bollocks or the Bees Knees.”
She gives The Music Soup Magazine- that thing called CHERYL FIRE 🔥and lights it up taking photos and interviewing artists. Her Blog section is extensive. “Once a Punk, always a Punk” she goes where the music calls- Rock, Jazz, Blues she’s around all genres of music.
The first concert she attended was the Hollywood Bowl Grateful Dead, Maria Muldaur, Commander Cody concert. She’s not a deadhead, but it was her first concert and made an impact. She’s made up for it going to more Elton John shows than should be legal.
Cheryl keeps up with music and loves the local music scene. Local group Lucky Old Bones caught her ear at the Railroad Square Music Festival just before we caught up. Good band!🎶
Looking like a drummer Cheryl channels her inner female Keith Moon (drummer for the Who)-Practices the drums and just loves doing it for herself. “I’m on a kick of interviewing drummers lately. It's really cool.”
