THORONGLA PASS IN EXTREME WEATHER

Описание: Thorongla pass was one of our dream trek.We had planned since a long time and finally made it.We did the pass in the month of november(2025 nov 2).We started from chitwan on october 26, reached to besisahar and then to manang valley on jeep.We stayed for two days in manang and visited some local places at manang.Suddenly on october 28 there was a very heavy snowfall in all the high regions of manang and mustang.We waited for the weather to improve but there was no clue in improvement of weather.

After staying for a day more we decided to dare for the trek and started our trek from manang on october 30 with full of hope and courage.We reached to yak kharka in about 4 hours despite of challenging weather and heavy snow.There were tourists from different parts of the world dreaming for thorongla pass but were all stucked in manang and yak kharka and some were returning from thorang phedi as well.We didn't give up and we waited for a day more at yak kharka.

The next day was quite bright and signs of improving weather so we decided for our journey and headed towards leddar and then to thorang phedi.Finally after reaching thorang phedi in about 6 hours from yak kharka,we went to high camp (in about 3 hours) because we had a good aclimatization and stayed a night there.

The next day was a precious one,we started the trek early and reached to thorangla pass nearly in about 5 hours from high camp.The view was awesome and enjoyed the panaromic view.We were so happy by reaching at the pass,we spent some time there and then descended to muktinath in about 5 more hours.

The trek was challenging and full of adventure due to extreme weather and altitude.We suggest everyone to properly gear up as trekking gears are life equipments and also to be very sincere with altitude as aclimatization is very essential.Please donot make waste,respect the nature and enjoy your trek.
