Discussion on the DEAF ghost writer known as “Not an Angry Deaf Person” the article about “Working as Sign Language Interpreters is a PRIVILEGE, not a RIGHT” dated Feb. 11, 2021 posted on the Facebook.
Define CRITICISM: the expression of disapproval of someone or something based on perceived faults or mistakes. It can be positive or destructive.
The difference between constructive (+) criticism and destructive (-)criticism is the way in which comments are delivered. ...
Constructive criticism, on the other hand, is designed to point out your mistakes, but also show you where and how improvements can be made.
Neutrality means that humanitarian aid must not favor any side in an armed conflict or other dispute. Note: RID does not use the word: Neutrality in the CPC.
Impartiality means that humanitarian aid must be provided solely on the basis of need, without discrimination.
A privilege is a certain entitlement to immunity granted by the state or another authority to a restricted group, either by birth or on a conditional basis. ...
By contrast, a right is an inherent, irrevocable entitlement held by all citizens or all human beings from the moment of birth. Example: Human rights as protected by the civil rights laws as an American living in our free society here in the USA receiving free public education, accessibility to any public entities including interpreting services for all people who do not use English language in different forms: Speaking, Listening, Reading, or Writing format to remove communication barrier.
A lot of people don’t get the difference and, unfortunately, many of them are legislators. Understanding the difference between rights and privileges is critical for citizens trying to live under the law in a free society, and far too many lawmakers spend most of their energy trying to blur the distinction between the two.
…Privileges, on the other hand, do not belong to all. Example: Right to bear arms….abuse the right, you lose the privilege.

“Accusing of public adoration” is viewed as a derogatory comment that showed lack of respect for any interpreters working in the profession. That is dangerous and unhealthy environment for deaf consumers receiving interpreting services.
The question of MISTRUST need to be addressed to find out WHY that need to discuss with Deaf consumers and the RID/NAD through the State Association of the Deaf.
Heather did not contact those news media but got calls to do multiple interviews internationally through radio station, newspapers, magazines, and TV news such as FOX News, BBC, etc. to interview her. The Deaf community created the spotlight for Heather Mewshaw. She did not called those social medias but to deal with the publicity created by deaf complaints who made those noises. They are trying to understand the bottom line of what is the ISSUE of “Cancel Culture”.
Define Respectability in a political point of view:a set of beliefs holding that conformity to prescribed mainstream standards of appearance and behavior will protect a person who is part of a marginalized group, especially a Black person, from prejudices and systemic injustices:

My question for you as Deaf consumers using interpreting services in both community and educational settings.
Do we have right to express our criticism if the service cost us nothing? Certification or not does not apply?
What is our view of professionalism related to interpreting service?
Appearance or integrity of delivery of accurate message with fluency.
Right to Work is TRUE for everybody everywhere anytime!
My question: Do Deaf consumers, who receive FREE interpreting service, have right to discriminate or prevent anyone from working as a CDI or CHI if they meet qualifications and pass tests to be certified and licensed to work?
Privilege to work as an interpreter means the interpreter met the expected standards set by the RID and NAD, two main national organizations serving the deaf Americans.
