Over the past 20 years, Democrats became increasingly associated with the establishment forces of media, tech, politics, and culture. At the same time, as Martin Gurri outlined in his book “Revolt of the Public,” voters in the U.S. and across the world began rebelling against the establishment wherever they could find it. The combination of those two facts go a long way towards explaining Trump’s win in 2024. But now, the landscape is rapidly changing: Many of the same elites that once shunned Trump are embracing him and conservatives are on the march in government and culture.
