Koh Chang, the second-largest island in Thailand, is an eastern paradise popular among locals. The island is known for its stunning beaches and excellent diving spots, which I believe are among the best in the Gulf of Thailand.

HOW TO GET TO KOH CHANG

You can quite literally drive to Koh Chang. I did so myself during my last visit. Ferries that can carry personal vehicles depart from ports like Centrepoint every hour. However, during holidays, the queues can be horrendous—so it’s best to arrive at the port as early as possible, while traffic is still light.

For those who don’t plan to drive, the most convenient option is to let your accommodation arrange transportation for you. It’s safer, more private, and significantly more convenient than organizing everything on your own—though it does come at a higher cost.
