Porin – Croatian Chivalric Opera (Overture) (Movie Version)

Описание: First of all I wish to apologise for my long absences, I was quite busy resent weeks with my final exams so I had barely time finishing my videos earlier.
I generously thank everyone for their loyalty to me. I'm still busy for the last weeks before eastern until I've finally time.

About the Composer:
Vatroslav Lisinski (8 July 1819 – 31 May 1854) was a Croatian composer and Catholic convert.

Lisinski was born as "Ignatius Fuchs" in a German Jewish family. He would later change his name to Vatroslav Lisinski, which is a Croatian calque of his original name. For a time he worked as a clerk at the in Zagreb.
Lisinski composed the first Croatian opera, Love and Malice in 1846 and Porin in 1851 as well as numerous works like orchestra, choir and soloists.
He was also one of the founders of Illyrism, a movement that advocated the importance of Croatian cultural heritage as a reaction to Magyarisation during Habsburg rule.

It's remarkable to know that the Croatian public during the time of romantisism remained hostile towards atheism, masonry, (proto-)socialism and partly even liberalism. The only thing that changed through this period was the increase of nationalism, ecumenism among few clergymen and religious pluralism but at least the number of Catholic converts increases with rise of nationalism. Seems like Jelačić did a pretty good job governing my people.
