This episode shows Robin Wilson (Yes his dad was Harold Wilson) explaining three different methods to solve (what on the face of it) are three closely related contour integral. However the techniques used to solve each are very different. Complex number theory is used.
For anyone interested - In simple terms Cauchy's theorem states that in a certain special type of region - called simply-connected (one with no holes) and c be a circle laying entirely within it then for any integral (of a well behaved function - called analytic) will have an integral around c equal to zero. This fact is used in one of the proofs.
