Reaction to the death of Houthi's Saleh al-Samad

Yemen's Houthi rebels say their acting head of state has been killed in an airstrike by the Saudi-led coalition.
They say Saleh al-Samad was killed by a raid in the coastal Hodeida province.

He was the head of the highest political body in areas under their control.
The Houthis, Shiite rebels allied with Iran, control much of northern Yemen, including the capital, Sanaa.
A Saudi-led coalition has been battling Iran-allied Shiite rebels known as Houthis since 2015 in a stalemated war that has killed more than 10,000 people.
On Monday, the Houthis said that al-Samad was killed in a coalition airstrike in the coastal Hodeida province last week.
"We consider the so-called forces of aggression, especially America and Saudi Arabia, responsible for killing of Samad and all the consequences of this crime," Abdul-Malek al-Houthi, the leader of the rebels, said.
Newspapers in Sanaa are awash with pictures of the official.
Those reading the news react with shock and anger.
"The death of the martyr al-Samad will unite the Yemeni people and will seek revenge for this great man who was loved by all factions and parties of the Yemeni people," says Abdul Wahab al-Mahbashi, head of the Human Rights and Legal Department of the Political Bureau of Ansar Allah.
Others on the street call it a "tragic incident".
"The loss will unite all the Yemenis and his loss does not mean that they won," says one Sanaa resident.
Houthis say Samad was killed on a road with six companions after meeting with local officials.
Mahdi al-Mashat, a former fighter who until now directed al-Houthi's office, was elected as a successor.
