Members of the South African Medical Association Trade Union (SAMATU) together with unions affiliated to COSATU marched to the Government Complex, in Mpumalanga. The union members handed over a memorandum of demands, which includes among others employment of unemployed doctors in the province, especially those who studied in Cuba. The unions claims to have had several meetings with the Department of Health but have always reached a deadlock, leaving doctors frustrated.
